STORY

One Small Chance was founded to help those disadvantaged by the pressures of everyday existence.

VISION

As One Small Chance continues to grow, we envision cultivating a resilient community that rises above its economic obstacles. We aim to replace uncertainty with opportunity, proving that even the smallest spark of support can ignite a lifetime of change.

IMPACT

In 2025, One Small Chance turned vision into action by awarding 5 athletic scholarships to students at John Marshall High School and opening 2 additional academic scholarships. Through partnerships with Virginia Credit Union and First Bank & Trust, we have also distributed over $5,000 in essential school supplies to nine schools, alongside vital hygiene kits, winter clothing, and learning materials, benefiting hundreds of families overcoming economic obstacles.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

  • One Small Chance has brought conversations around educational access and youth opportunity into local media spaces across the Greater Richmond region.

  • Community interviews, our initiatives have helped elevate awareness of the barriers facing local students.

  • Expanding the conversation around equity, access, and long-term opportunity for youth.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Limited access to supplies at home means many students start behind before the school day even begins.

  • Under-resourced schools and fewer enrichment opportunities restrict academic growth and long-term potential.

  • For some families, everyday necessities come before educational materials — leaving gaps that compound over time.

  • These barriers are not about ability — they are about access. Opportunity should never depend on a ZIP code.

If there isn’t a solution, then we need find one.
