Background

At One Small Chance, we believe that the right guidance at the right time can make all the difference. That’s why we’re launching a mentorship program that connects college students with youth who need extra support: academically, socially, or personally.

Many of the kids we work with face barriers, like financial hardship, lack of encouragement, or limited access to guidance. Our goal is to offer them a trusted connection; someone a few steps ahead who understands what they’re going through and can help them imagine what’s possible.

About This Program

This program pairs motivated juniors, seniors, and college students with younger mentees for consistent, one-on-one support. Whether it’s helping with homework, talking about college, or just checking in, mentors provide a steady presence in the lives of students who may not have one.

We're currently:

  1. Recruiting college students interested in youth development, education, or simply giving back.

  2. Building partnerships with schools and local organizations to identify students who can benefit.

  3. We offer flexible, primarily virtual mentoring sessions with the option for in-person meetings where possible.

This program is still growing, and we’re starting small, but with purpose. Every connection we build is one more chance for a student to feel supported, encouraged, and capable of achieving more.

How Can You Help?

College students have the power to change lives. At One Small Chance, we believe that mentorship, leadership, and compassion can open doors for the next generation, and that starts with people like you.

Whether you’re passionate about education, sports, social justice, or simply giving back, there’s a place for you in our mission. Here’s how you can get involved:

From helping with college applications to giving advice about life after high school, your experience matters.

Run resume workshops, scholarship seminars, or mental health check-ins for underserved youth.
